I believe yoga offers a wide variety benefits, including physical, emotional, and spiritual. I see yoga as a part of a balanced lifestyle which goes hand in hand with fitness, nutrition, and mental health and wellness. I hope to teach you a new awareness of your body and mind. I also hope that you will gain the knowledge and ability to open yourself to new possibilities and push yourself to new limits. I have a balanced and open approach to yoga. I am confident we will find something that meets your needs and blends with your personality and goals.
I work full time in Red River College Polytech's Centre for Newcomer Integration as a Language Pathway and Support Specialist with internationally educated health professionals who are on the path to licensure in Manitoba, offering career counselling and social supports as needed (in addition to many other things!).
I have a background in nursing, having earned both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in nursing. I have practiced in the hospital and the home setting, have taught nursing at the university level, and earned my certification as a nurse practitioner.
I am married (you may see my husband assisting me with the evening class!), have 3 adult children, and a very old one-eyed Havanese dog.
I received my 300-hour teacher training from Source Yoga in Winnipeg. I have been teaching yoga in the North Kildonan area since 2016.
